Community Outreach Program

First Carolina Bank takes pride in our community outreach program, directly giving back to each one of our eight locations local communities. From our United Way Campaign, Community Outreach Campaign and Financial Literacy Campaign, we make it one of our largest efforts to have an impact in our communities. Every year, FCB focuses on our Community Outreach Campaign where we select monthly nonprofit partnerships with local nonprofits in each of the communities we serve: Rocky Mount, Raleigh, Reidsville, Cary and Wilmington NC; Columbia, SC; Virginia Beach, VA and Atlanta, GA. Each month, our staff chooses a nonprofit to partner with and assist with a need they may have including, supply drives, fundraising, financial literacy classes, etc. The Bank partners with the Bankers in Schools Program and local high schools and colleges in our areas where we host financial literacy classes to students in our community. First Carolina Bank has created a Financial Literacy Committee where a key group of employee's brainstorm ideas to get personal finance tools and resources to our local students. Our largest campaign we host is our annual United Way campaign, which is the only nonprofit that we host company wide due to its large umbrella of nonprofits United Way supports This campaign includes a luncheon to introduce United Way to our employees, multiple activities the week of campaign and emphasizes on 100% employee participation. When we hire, we look for individuals who are as community oriented as we are as an organization so that they are passionate in giving back to our local communities. This passion is what has allowed us to have 100% participation during our United Way Campaign as well as exceed our fundraising goal every year since 2014 when we started giving.
