ABA: The American Bankers Association

Minority Depository Institution Advisory Council

ABA is proud to have a large and broad constituency of minority depository institutions among its membership ranks. The Minority Depository Institution Advisory Council (MDIAC) is board-appointed ABA council to engage MDI members and provide additional support to these important institutions. While ABA is uniquely positioned to provide greater support to the broader MDI community, the MDIAC is jointly staffed with the National Bankers Association, the trade organization that solely represents the interests of MDIs in accordance with the associations’ joint strategic partnership.

MDI Partnership Forums

Sponsored by ABA’s Minority Depository Institutions Advisory Council

ABA and the National Bankers Association will host a series of biannual Minority Depository Institution Partnership Summits. These events are designed to bring large banks, particularly midsize and regional banks together with MDIs to better serve communities of color, and low- to moderate-income communities across the country.

The first summit will be held during ABA’s Conference for Community Bankers on Feb. 15, 2023. A second forum will take place during one of NBA’s fall 2023 events—date TBD.
