Host a Lights, Camera, Save! Contest

Give teens in your community a chance to show off their financial smarts with a self-made video. Sign up your bank to host this creative and engaging contest from ABA Foundation—details below.

Teaching Teens Financial Responsibility

The Lights, Camera, Save! video contest is a call for teens to use their imagination to educate themselves and their peers about the value of  building sound financial habits before adulthood. Videos can talk about any money management topics from paying for college, to saving through auto deposits, protecting your identity and knowing your credit score. The sky is the limit!

Bankers with free registered participation receive access to our Lights, Camera, Save! resource page. The resource page contains everything needed to conduct a contest including marketing tools, submission forms and judging materials for your local contest.

How to Participate


All banks have to do is register their participation below, and we’ll provide all the materials. Registered banks can access the contest resource page for marketing tools, contestant entry forms and judging criteria.

The contest runs throughout February 2021. Spread the word in your community before the entry period using all the materials on the resource page. You can also use your own channels and materials to market the contest. 

National Winners

Banks host the local round of the contest, which ends March 1, 2021. Winners of each bank-hosted contest will compete in ABA Foundation’s national competition, held during March 2021.

The top eight national finalists will compete for $9,000 in cash prizes via a bracket style tournament on ABA's Instagram March 23-25, 2021.

Bank Eligibility

  • One Entry Per Bank Per State
    Banks may submit one video to ABA Foundation’s national contest. Banks with more than location or branch in a state may submit only one winning video per state. Participating financial institutions operating in multiple states may submit one winning video from each state.
  • Age Requirement
    Contestants must be between 13 and 18 years of age when the entry period begins. 
  • Submission Requirements
    Contestant entry forms are submitted electronically to host banks. Participating banks may accept video entries via YouTube or another video sharing website. ABA is unable to provide technical support with online submissions.

What is ABA Foundation’s role in the contest?

ABA, in particular ABA Foundation, hosts the national contest and selects local winners for national recognition, maintains the official rules, facilitates national judging to determine prize winners and serves as banks’ point of contact as they host local contests.

Prizes for national winners are provided by ABA Foundation and our annual contest sponsor.
