Vista Bank's Community Development & Outreach program puts #peoplefirst by impacting our assessment areas, especially low-to-moderate income (LMI) areas with underserved and underrepresented communities, with the equitable products and services needed to serve them best.

The Community Development & Outreach unit comprises lending, loaning, investments, CRA, financial literacy, the Vista Bank Leadership Academy, and a potential program for small businesses owned by minorities. Vista Bank is extremely community-oriented and provides itself with its philanthropic and community service efforts. This core company value involves executive leadership and every key employee within the Vista team, as well as its partners, stakeholders and constituents.

During the pandemic, we learned that our small business client Princess Pope's downtown storefront was looted and destroyed. There was no question that the Vista Bank team would do everything possible to help her rebuild and reopen. Through our Vista Outreach Program, we recruited 20 clients to join the DFW team, including the CEO and his son, bringing shovels, shop vacs, commercial cleaning bags, and other materials needed to clean and bring revitalization to her storefront in under an hour.

Other philanthropic efforts include raising and donating to Austin's Center for Child Protection, as well as local schools like KIPP Truth Elementary, sponsoring Camp Exposure (a free football camp providing on and off-the-field development training), providing financial literacy education and resources for young student-athletes in underserved communities.
