Add-on Purchase of CFTA Online Exam Prep and Certification Rules and Restrictions

ABA Professional Certifications created this FAQ for the purchasers of the Online CTFA Exam Prep and/or CTFA Exam in conjunction with the fall 2021 Wealth and Trust Schools.

  • For purchasers of the Online CTFA Exam Prep, the course will be added to your transcript after the ending date of Wealth and Trust School Level 2 (October 22, 2021).
  • For the CTFA Exam, a unique exam code will be sent via email to each paid attendee the day after the last school has concluded (November 12, 2021)
    • The exam code must be used by December 3, 2021, to redeem the CTFA exam by applying online and choosing any testing date (February, June, August, October or December) in 2022.
  • Applications are available online for CTFA and must be submitted by the due date for the applicable testing window. Note: Those who apply and do not meet the eligibility requirements will not be able to reuse or transfer the exam code.

Additional Details

  • The CFTA exam code is not transferrable and may only be used by the purchaser.
  • Each exam applicant must meet the CFTA Eligibility Requirements at the time of testing.
  • This exam code expires on December 3, 2021.
  • Access to the Online CFTA Exam Prep will be available for only 12 months. Your 12-month access begins when you first launch the class.
  • As of September 2020, only Levels 1 and 2 are required to meet the training requirements. The advanced school is offered as an advanced, continuing education school.
  • As you begin preparing to sit for the exam, please review CFTA Resources that might assist you.
