COVID-19 Policy Update

The American Bankers Association is constantly monitoring guidance and mandates for in-person events made by businesses and federal, state, and local agencies, and incorporating new data surrounding the spread and mitigation of COVID-19 to adjust our policies.

On August 11, the CDC issued an update to its Guidance for Minimizing the Impact of COVID-19. One key takeaway is the CDC’s recognition that the “high population levels of anti–SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence” and that vaccination is no longer a significant differentiator regarding the likelihood of contracting or spreading COVID-19.  Therefore, effective September 1, 2022, we are lifting the vaccine mandate for all ABA events individuals will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination or take a COVID-19 test to attend an ABA in-person event.
