Curriculum | Wealth and Trust School - Foundational


The ABA Foundational Wealth and Trust School offers a state-of-the-art, performance-based curriculum, designed and delivered by a prestigious group of trust professionals, including prominent bankers, attorneys, and industry experts. In addition, students have the opportunity to build a nationwide network of peers and industry leaders - a vital resource for years to come.

Over five days, students receive a solid foundation in the technical skills and knowledge required in the fiduciary and trust, investment, financial planning, tax, and ethics industries, including the latest strategies in:

  • Account Administration
  • Fiduciary Law
  • Tax & Estate Planning
  • Investment Management

Students who complete this school earn the ABA Foundational Trust Certificate. 


An optional orientation session will be held Wednesday, September 16, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. This session will review pre-work and on-demand work.

Pre-Session Work

Prior to attending the Foundational Wealth and Trust School, September 21 – October 2, 2020, students must complete five self-paced online courses. You will automatically be enrolled in these courses after you have registered for the school, as they are included in your registration fee.

In addition to the daily schedule, students will be expected to complete on-demand courses. These may be completed at any point during the school. The courses are:

  • Estate Planning – Philanthropic Planning
  • Estate and Probate Administration
