Dear <supervisor’s name>,

I am requesting approval to attend the ABA/ABA Financial Crimes Enforcement Conference, held November 28-30, 2024, in National Harbor, MD, located just outside of Washington, D.C.

Having researched a range of educational offerings in the financial crimes space, I believe this event provides the kind of premier experience and content that can be used immediately at our bank. The nation’s oldest and most trusted financial crimes conference assembles top national leaders to focus exclusively on bank AML compliance and fraud mitigation and controls.

Not only are the speakers top-tier practitioners, they represent different aspects of our industry, including large and smaller institutions, government, law firms and consultancies. This cohort of speakers will lead highly relevant sessions on topics, including the latest policies straight from top government officials, leading practices in risk assessment and mitigation, and threats through a banking and legal lens.

Attending the conference in person offers a rich development environment that will allow me to participate in peer conversations. Building a professional network of contacts in our industry is an invaluable part of this event, and I look forward to growing this network for my future and the future of our bank.

I have included an outline of the costs below. Please let me know if there is additional information I can provide.

Here is the breakdown of costs:

In-person registration fee: $1,850 for ABA Certification Holders/$2,095 ABA Member/$2,450 ABA Non-member

(Please visit aba.com/fce for information about the Remote Access option.)

Travel Costs: Costs include flights to/from Washington, D.C. (DCA is the closest airport), a 3-night stay at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center and dinner. Breakfast is provided Tuesday – Thursday, and lunch will be provided on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As you can tell, I am extremely excited about this opportunity and the benefits that both I and <insert bank name> will realize with my attendance. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

<Your name here>
