2023 Community Committment Awards Submission

  • Entry Category: Volunteerism
  • Asset Size: Medium

Southside Bank is a proud supporter of its communities. We do not simply claim to be a "community bank," but rather, we make it a practice to embody "community" in everything we do. From financially supporting non-profits, educational initiatives, chambers of commerce, and other civic groups, to contributing over 6,100 collective hours in volunteer support in 2022, "community" is truly the heartbeat of Southside.

Being known and recognized as a "true" community bank can only be accomplished through the intentional contributions of its team members. Because of their contributions, Southside is widely known as a

pillar" within the communities where we have a presence.

In 2019, Southside launched the Southside Serves program, which provides opportunities for team members to volunteer at non-profit and/or civic organizations throughout its communities. Southside provides 20 hours each year of "Volunteer Paid Time Off" to encourage team members to volunteer during their normal work week.

Over the last several years, and over the last year in particular, Southside has seen an increase in volunteerism from Bank personnel. We are excited to share the details of community impact in the subsequent sections of this application.
