Kansas HB 2591: Trusted Contact and Transaction Hold

Allows designation of a trusted contact and authorizes temporary transaction holds by financial institutions in cases of suspected financial exploitation or fraud.

About the Legislation:

Allows a customer to add a trusted contact to account for a financial instituion to contact in case of financial exploitation/fraud; allows a financial institution to place a 10 day transaciton hold on potential fraudulent transaction if the approiate reports are filed. This bill will pass in the 2026 session.
