ABA Statement on 2026 Election Results

"We congratulate the winners of the midterm Congressional elections, including the new Democratic majority in the U.S. House and Senate.
 
“We look forward to continuing to engage with lawmakers in both parties to advance commonsense policies that allow banks of all sizes to best support the customers, clients and communities they serve, while driving economic growth and opportunity. From the fight against fraud to establishing a regulatory framework for digital assets that protects local lending, we see a number of opportunities for bipartisan cooperation. America's banks stand ready to work with the new Congress and the administration on these and other important policy issues."
