ABA Congratulates New FinCEN Director

“ABA congratulates Andrea Gacki on being named the new director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. Gacki has had a long and distinguished career with the Department of Treasury, including her tenure as director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control, and her service as the acting Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Crimes. Her extensive experience and deep commitment to national security, as well as the protection of the U.S. financial system from bad actors, will serve her well as she leads FinCEN during this important period. We also congratulate Bradley Smith on his appointment as the new director of OFAC following nearly five years of service as deputy director. He is extremely well positioned to lead OFAC in this era of evolving and innovative sanctions

“We look forward to working with them both in our shared effort to protect the U.S. financial system from illicit finance.”
