Next Monday/Tuesday Livestreams: ABA CEO Nichols, Treasury Secretary Yellen, JPMorganChase CEO Dimon, Nasdaq CEO Friedman, Rep. Torres to Headline ABA’s Annual Convention

WASHINGTON —

ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, JPMorganChase CEO Jamie Dimon, Nasdaq Chair and CEO Adena Friedman and Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) will headline the American Bankers Association’s 2024 Annual Convention next week in New York City before an audience of bank leaders from across the country. ABA will livestream convention general sessions on its X handle @ABABankers.

Monday General Sessions

On the morning of Monday, Oct. 28, Nichols will kick off the convention with remarks outlining the key issues facing the banking industry and ABA’s policy priorities; Nasdaq Chair and CEO Adena Friedman will sit down with Nichols to discuss Nasdaq’s longstanding support for the banking sector, the economy and business conditions in the U.S. before ABA rings the Nasdaq Opening Bell remotely from the convention; and Dimon will join Nichols to discuss current banking policy issues, his outlook for the economy and the importance of maintaining a diverse and vibrant banking sector.

Monday afternoon’s general session will include an address from outgoing ABA Chair Julieann M. Thurlow, Reading Cooperative Bank president and CEO, as well as former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark A. Milley discussing current global threats that could impact the U.S. economy and the banking sector.

Tuesday General Sessions

On Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, Mike Allen, co-founder of Axios, will sit down with ABA’s Nichols to discuss the latest in the race for the White House and control of Congress, followed by a roundtable with ABA’s top policy experts sharing the very latest on the legislative, regulatory and legal issues facing the industry. 

On Tuesday afternoon, Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) will discuss legislative priorities in the House as well as key banking policy issues in Congress before U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen shares her latest thoughts on the state of the U.S. economy, the important role banks of all sizes play in supporting growth and more. After her prepared remarks, Nichols will join Sec. Yellen to for a brief Q&A on the economy and more.
