Voya-Illinois Bankers Association - Model State Banking Association program for quality commercial loan growth Location

Brought to you by: Voya Investment Management

Episode Summary

Maintaining C&I loan growth is a challenge for many communities and smaller regional banks as C&I percentages have decreased since the beginning of the COVID period while CRE concentrations have increased in the aggregate. Today we will be discussing how accessing the national scale senior loan market provides an avenue for quality loan growth for banks when best practices are followed. A new Voya partnership with the Illinois Bankers Association provides Illinois banks access to acquire a portfolio of quality, national scale C&I loans, including support in underwriting, risk management, administration, and loan review. Voya’s approach is a turnkey program. Banks can individually build a portfolio one loan at a time or work jointly with peer banks to acquire and manage a portfolio on a pro-rata basis. Either way, loans are acquired and managed in a measured, staged process based on their policies and standards and utilizing best market practices.
