Thank you for your commitment to speak at the 2024 ABA Risk and Compliance Conference. Your contributions to this industry-important event will significantly enhance the ability of risk and compliance professionals to benchmark their programs and improve their performance.

This page contains essential conference information including registration and housing information, a downloadable PowerPoint Template, Speaker Resource Guide, deadlines, and more. Please bookmark this page for future reference.

Conference Overview

For 36 years, ABA produced the largest banking consumer compliance conference in the country. Additionally, for 10 years, ABA produced an all-encompassing risk conference providing a deep dive into the full range of financial, non-financial risks and credit risks.
In 2023, ABA combined these two events to elevate the expertise of risk and compliance professionals as well as provide a one-stop-shop for new practices and trends. The ABA Risk and Compliance Conference provides a forum for already collaborating entities to share innovative ideas and practices.
We are expecting 1,800-2,000 in-person attendees along with another 1000+ remote attendees.

This is a synchronous event linking the in-person attendee experience with a remote attendee experience. All sessions will be recorded on-site, but for the remote audience, general sessions will also be live-streamed. Sessions recorded at the conference will be accessible via a digital conference platform within 36 hours after they have been recorded.

On-site attendees will have access to the recordings one week after they return home. The conference platform will be live until September 15, 2024.

Speaker Registration and Housing

Speakers Receive Complimentary Conference Registration

All speakers must self-register due to GDPR privacy compliance rules. Please complete the entire electronic form (link below), including checking the disclosure agreement boxes.

Complimentary Speaker Registration Instructions

  • Please use Chrome browser and go to the conference registration page
  • Log into your aba.com account or create an account if you don’t have one. Select “Speaker” as your registration type for the event. (not attendee or press)
  • Enter your information or check the auto-populated information and proceed. Answer the required consent questions in the affirmative. Registration cannot move forward without affirmative responses. Hit “confirm and continue.”
  • When you are asked to select registration option, select “Risk and Compliance Conference - In Person All Access Registration” so your complimentary speaker coupon code will work. Any other selection will not work with your speaker complimentary registration code.
  • Enter your coupon code in the space provided – do not cut and paste the code, type the code into the box with no spaces before or after the dash. Your code is: RCCSPEKC24-7945 which will zero out the price for that selection. Please do not share this code as we validate all speakers coming into the system using this code.
    Speaker registrations are non-transferable.
  • Any issues with registration should be directed to [email protected] – tell them you are a speaker for the Risk and Compliance Conference and they will assist you in registering.

Hotel Reservation Instructions

While the conference does not pay for speaker expenses, we invite you to register as a VIP in our special speaker room block. This ensures you will be in a protected block, at the conference hotel, at the conference rate, regardless of any overbooking situation.

Deliverables and Deadlines

You will participate in a session-specific planning call led by your moderator ahead of the conference. Contact Dorothy Friedlander if you haven't been contacted for an organizing call by early May.

May 15 Deadline

This is your comprehensive deadline for submitting your session’s PPT, speaker biography, speaker headshot and speaker release form.

Speaker Biography/Headshot

UPLOAD YOUR SPEAKER BIO AND HEADSHOT

Please upload 1-2 paragraphs emphasizing your risk and/or regulatory compliance expertise. Long biographies will be edited for space. We also request you upload a headshot that will accompany your biography on the platform.

Speaker Release Form

The American Bankers Association will send you via email our speaker release e-form via our Conga/NOVATUS system. Speaker releases are a pre-requisite to speaking - speakers unable to sign a release will not be permitted to speak at the conference. Our general counsel's office can negotiate a customized release if required. Please contact Conference Vice President, Dorothy Friedlander ASAP to discuss.

What does the release cover? The release allows ABA to video record all sessions and provide these sessions exclusively on our single sign-on virtual platform along with the PowerPoint presentations. All session recordings will only be accessible, but not downloadable, to attendees on our contracted virtual conference platform Cvent until September 15, 2024. ABA reserves the right to repost a session recording, or clips to share important news from the conference or for non-government speakers, to demonstrate the scope of our content. Any concerns can be addressed to the satisfaction of both parties.

Our mobile app, operated by the same 3rd party partner, Cvent, will also house PPTs during the conference itself and for a short time after.

Additionally, the release permits ABA to post your biography and headshot on the virtual conference platform and our mobile app.

Contact TiJuanna Smith at [email protected] if you have questions about the logistics surrounding biography/headshot submission or speaker release.

Presentation PPT

For panels: Only a single PPT representing the entire panel will be accepted. If your panel has a PPT presentation or other handouts please submit it to [email protected] for final review/approval by May 31, 2024.

Keynotes: You will be contacted by Dorothy Friedlander to finalize the details of your presentation.

Key Speaker Downloads

Important speaker documents to download:

Download the Speaker FAQs/Resource Guide. This is an important document for every speaker to download and review for information on conference flow, session recordings, session room set up, audience expectations and more. If you have special requests or concerns, please contact Dorothy Friedlander.

Download Your Speaker PowerPoint Template (required) Please note that every PPT will have a first slide outlining session learning objectives and the final slide will be a summary "take away" slide which reflects the learning objectives. Long and wordy presentation slide decks are not a best practice.
