TPRM and GDPR: Where Do They Meet and What Does it Mean?

Aired: Thursday, March 8, 2018

2.0 CRCM, 2.0 CSOP, 2.0 CERP

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) put out by the European Union is slated to go into effect in May of 2018. The regulation covers personal, sensitive data and establishes rights of data subjects. If a bank is doing business with a third party who offers goods or services and/or engages in monitoring within the European Union, the bank may need to make adjustments to its third party risk management (TPRM) program to help ensure compliance. The regulation includes hefty fines for non-compliance (up to $20M euros or 4 times worldwide turnover). Get your questions answered during this informative recording!

This recording focuses on:

  • What is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?
  • Who needs to comply with GDPR?
  • Where do GDPR and Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) intersect?
  • Considerations for adjusting TPRM programs to help ensure compliance with GDPR
