Speaking Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in the 2019 ABA Conference for Community Bankers. Before completing the Speaker Proposal Form, please note the following mandatory requirements. Speakers must:

  • Be an ABA bank/service member; *
  • Submit a presentation outline; and
  • Provide session handouts electronically in advance of the conference

How to Submit Your Proposal

STEP 1: Note Deadline
The deadline for proposal submission is Friday, July 27, 2018.

Selection is based on the Conference Planning Working Group's topic recommendations. Speakers must hold senior-level titles and appropriate technical expertise. 

Our attendees like to hear from bankers who can provide examples from personal experience. Bankers participating in sessions must be ABA Members.

ABA is dedicated to developing the very best educational sessions. This is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your thought leadership and subject matter expertise  please keep in mind that these speaking opportunities are not designed to sell products or services. Sessions must be issue-oriented and cannot highlight an individual vendor or product.

STEP 3: Complete the Speaker Proposal Form

Tips on submitting a Successful Proposal:
  • Address and complete all fields in the session proposal form
  • Gear session to banks with less than $3 billion in assets
  • Focus on takeaway value

    60-75 minute facilitated sessions that enable attendees (bankers or board members) to exchange ideas and best practices on the latest hot topics.

Speaker Selection
If you are selected as a speaker, you will:
  • Be contacted by the ABA conference program manager directly. (No phone calls please.)
  • Be promoted in conference promotional materials
  • Receive a complimentary registration to the conference that will admit you to all sessions, the exhibit hall, receptions and other social functions
  • Be required to provide your slide presentation and session handouts electronically in advance of the conference
Speaker Fees
All speakers are required to pay their own travel-related expenses to the conference. However, all speakers will receive a complimentary registration to the conference (a $1,595 value). No honorarium is provided.

Substitution Policy
Speaker substitutions are subject to ABA conference manager approval. In the event a proposed and confirmed speaker cannot fulfill his/her commitment, the presenting company will not be guaranteed a speaking slot for an alternative representative.​
