Attendees | Commercial Lending School - Advanced

Register

The ABA Advanced Commercial Lending School enhances the portfolio management skills of bankers who manage or plan to manage others in the delivery of business lending. Attendees of the advanced school should:

  • Have a strong working knowledge of the contents of the balance sheet and operating statement.
  • Be involved to some degree with developing the credit culture at their organization.
  • Be responsible to some degree for helping manage credit risk organizationally.
  • Have oversight (or be preparing to have oversight) of analysts and lenders who calculate GCF.
  • Play a role (or be looking to play a greater role) in loan collections and managing problem loans.
  • Be a decision-maker who takes part in (or be looking to start taking a part in) evaluating potential of lending liability lawsuits.
  • Be at the point in their career where they need to take a bigger role in developing a strategy for loan pricing.

If you need a refresher in commercial lending key data points, please consider registering for the optional Financial Statement Analysis for Lenders pre-program workshop.

Although not required, many students find attending the foundational school first and then attending the advanced school the following year to be critical in gaining a thorough understanding of the loan function.
