BAFT Elects Officers, Board for 2016-2017

 

 WASHINGTON — Members attending BAFT’s North America Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz. have elected new officers and directors to serve on its board for the 2016-2017 association year. The new officers are:
  • CHAIRMAN:  John Ahearn, global head of trade, Citi;
  • VICE CHAIRMAN:  Michael Quinn, managing director, JPMorgan Chase; and
  • SECRETARY/TREASURER:  Daniel Scanlan, regional head, transaction banking, Americas, Standard Chartered.
Beginning new terms on the BAFT board are:
  • Claudia Colic, managing director, UBS;
  • Patricia Gomes, co-head of financial institutions group, North America, HSBC;
  • Faisal Lalani, executive vice president and global head, GFI, Emirates NBD;
  • Filip Papich, managing director and co-head, global trade & banking, BMO;
  • Craig Weeks, senior vice president and manager, U.S. Bank; and
  • Eszter Wijkman, senior advisor, SEB.
    Continuing their terms on the BAFT board are: 
  • Gail Angel, senior vice president and business line executive, FIS;
  • Kimberly Burdette, senior vice president and manager, PNC;
  • Tod Burwell, president and CEO, BAFT;
  • Esther Galiana, managing director head, financial institutions, BBVA; 
  • Mark Garfield, head, global financial institutions, Zions;
  • Rita Gonzalez, senior vice president, First Data;
  • Maurice Iskandar, assistant general manager, Banque Libano-Francaise;
  • Raffaele Martino, head of trade finance and correspondent banking, Intesa Sanpaolo;
  • James Peterson, managing director, Northern Trust;
  • Vincent Raniere, managing director, APAC, Lombard Risk;
  • James Rausch, managing director, global head banks, brokers and exchanges, RBC;
  • David Scola, head of FI origination – GTB, Barclays;
  • Alain Verschueren, senior advisor, correspondent banking and head, sales, BNP Paribas; and
  • John Wong, group head, transaction banking, Maybank.
