Plains Commerce Bank Launches Innovative Credit Cards with Corserv

ATLANTA, May 17, 2022 – Corserv, a company that empowers banks and fintechs with payment programs, has implemented an innovative credit card program with Plains Commerce Bank, a community bank in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to serve their business and consumer customers.

Founded over 90 years ago, Plains Commerce Bank has always focused on the value of customer relationships and serving the local market. Corserv’s innovative program enables Plains Commerce Bank offer credit card products with a variety of APRs and rewards to consumer, business, and commercial customers while taking the relationship value of customers into account for credit decisions.

“We wanted to make the credit decisions for our relationship customers and keep the credit card loans and associated interchange and interest with Plains Commerce Bank in the local community,” said Chris Wasmund, Chief Operations Officer at Plains Commerce Bank. “Corserv’s Account Issuer Program enables us to do this while providing market leading credit card products without the internal cost, staff and infrastructure that make operating our own card program cost prohibitive.”

Corserv provides a turnkey card issuing program to minimize the disruption, cost and resources for bank clients. With innovative features like support for virtual cards for business ePayables, automated credit decisioning, sales and servicing portals, transparent and robust reporting, hosting and secure PCI compliant software, Corserv provides full-featured card solutions for community banks to serve their customers.

“Corserv’s Account Issuer Program provides innovative features to enable Plains Commerce Bank to compete with the largest banks while providing local service and getting access to their customer data”, said David Luther, Chief Business Officer of Corserv. “Plains Commerce Bank is using our program to provide innovative features to credit card customers like real-time alerts and controls with two-way text alerts, a Plains Commerce branded mobile app, digital cards in Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay, and expense reporting.”
