Notice and Request for Comment on Proposed Interagency Guidance on Credit Risk Review Systems

The Federal Regulators released for comment proposed guidance on Credit Risk Review Systems. The proposed guidance outlines principles for use in developing and maintaining effective credit risk review systems. It also describes a set of practices for sound management of credit risk, a system of independent, ongoing credit review, and appropriate communication regarding the performance of the institution’s loan portfolio to its management and board of directors. The proposed guidance would update the agencies current credit risk review guidance is contained in Interagency Policy Statement on Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL) (2006) OCC Bulletin 2006-46 (Dec. 13, 2006).
