ABA Issues Staff Analysis on Recent CCPA Changes

With voters in California approving changes to the 2018 California Consumer Privacy Act earlier this month, ABA has prepared a members-only staff analysis highlighting the changes and their implications.

The newly approved California Privacy Rights Act makes changes to the CCPA related to covered "businesses" and their broader obligations; establishes new and revised consumer rights relating to personal information; and creates the California Privacy Protection Agency to enforce the CCPA. This new agency will be required to issue final rules to implement the changes to the CCPA by July 1, 2022.
