Mutual Institution Policy Support

Providing Mutuals a National Bank Charter and with a Capital Raising Tool

ABA Position

ABA, which has a history of advocacy leadership on mutual policy issues, led discussions with mutual banks and members of Congress that culminated in the introduction of legislation – H.R. 1426 and H.R. 1595– that would provide mutuals with a capital raising tool and provide for a mutual national bank charter. ABA strongly supports this legislation.
