Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Representative Stephanie Murphy (D-Fla.), Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank President Esther George and Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost are among the notable speakers who will address bank CEOs at the American Bankers Association’s Annual Convention, Oct. 18-19 in Tampa, Fla. This year’s event, held at the Tampa Convention Center, will bring together top executives from banks of all sizes to explore trends and emerging issues in financial services so they can navigate the unprecedented changes underway in our industry. A virtual option, which offers access to all livestreamed and on-demand content through Dec. 31, is also available.
“This year’s convention will provide bank leaders with the opportunity to learn more about the forces shaping the future of banking and how they can position their bank for success moving forward,” said ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols. “We have an exciting lineup of speakers and sessions designed to helps our members prepare for the future. This year’s convention will also give us a chance to reconnect with old friends in person for the first time since the pandemic began and enjoy a few laughs as well.”
Attendees will hear from two key players in Congress from Florida. Senator Rubio, who co-authored the bill that created the Paycheck Protection Program, will discuss the banking industry’s important role in supporting the recovery, while Representative Murphy will join ABA president and CEO Rob Nichols for a conversation about the latest developments in Congress and her efforts to find bipartisan compromise. Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank President George and Nichols will discuss the future of payments, financial innovation, and the latest on the economy. Jost, co-anchor of Saturday Night’s Live’s “Weekend Update,” will close out the Convention on October 19. A full list of keynote speakers for the event can be found here.
Attendees will also have access to concurrent sessions that cover a range of topics including cryptocurrency, proposals to increase bank reporting to the IRS, the debt ceiling, cybersecurity and many other critical issues.
