Feb. 12-14: Fed’s Bowman, Executives from Top Core Providers to Address Community Bankers at ABA Conference

WASHINGTON —

Federal Reserve Governor Michelle Bowman will address community bankers from across the country at the American Bankers Association’s Conference for Community Bankers, to be held Feb. 12-14 in Orlando, Fla. Bowman will deliver remarks on “Independence, Predictability and Tailoring in Banking Supervision and Regulation” before joining ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols for a wide-ranging conversation on a range of issues important to community banks. This annual gathering of community bankers provides attendees with an opportunity to discuss important issues facing the nation’s smaller banks, as well as the chance to forge and grow valuable connections with peers across the industry. Nichols’ and Bowman’s remarks and their conversation will be livestreamed beginning at 8 a.m. EST on Monday, Feb. 13.

In addition, attendees will be the first to learn the results of ABA’s latest Core Platforms Survey, which will provide a snapshot of the current relationship between America’s banks and their core providers. The survey will be released during the popular CoreConnection session—now in its second year—which will take place during the conference on Feb. 14. The session will also feature panels with bankers who have successfully navigated a range of innovation challenges.

Conference attendees will also have the chance to hear about the latest industry efforts to protect community bank customers from fraud and other threats during breakout sessions throughout the conference. Other keynote speakers on the conference program include leadership strategist and former Google executive recruiter Ginny Clarke, change management expert Michelle Rozen; and Vernice “Flygirl” Armour, the nation’s first Black female combat pilot. Educational sessions will focus on new technologies, evolving regulations and the changing landscape of customer demands.

“This year’s Conference for Community Bankers will allow attendees to gain meaningful insights from our keynote speakers along with an impactful and educational networking experience they can leverage to strengthen their business and their local communities,” Nichols said. “From peer-to-peer sessions to future-focused topics, this event is guaranteed to help bankers generate ideas and deliver real solutions.”
