American Bankers Association Earns 2021 Great Place to Work Certification

The American Bankers Association has once again been Certified™ by Great Place to Work®, the association announced today. ABA first earned the distinction in 2017. The prestigious national recognition is based entirely on what current employees said about their experience working at ABA in an independent anonymous survey. This year, 84% of ABA employees said it is a great place to work – 25 points higher than the average U.S. company. A summary of ABA’s ratings can be found here.

“The Great Place to Work® Certification™ is the definitive employer-of-choice recognition, and we are honored to receive it once again,” said Rob Nichols, ABA president and CEO. “The collaboration, inclusion and accountability that our employees bring to work play a pivotal role in our ability to represent and support banks of all sizes across the country as they help their communities thrive. Our staff has shown tremendous resolve throughout the pandemic, and we thank them for all they have done to create a culture worthy of this incredible recognition.”

Overall, ABA employees responded that they appreciate the support and communications from the leadership team, and value the culture, challenging work and exceptional benefits associated with working at the association. The core competencies on which ABA employees are evaluated emphasize collaboration and teamwork, innovation, accountability and integration. The association continues to introduce policies and programs to help balance the needs of its diverse workforce, including flexible work arrangements, professional development opportunities for all staff, and benefits to reduce financial burden on commuters, new parents and those managing student loans.

“Great Place to Work Certification™ isn’t something that comes easily – it takes ongoing dedication to the employee experience,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, vice president of global recognition at Great Place to Work. “It’s the only official recognition determined by employees’ real-time reports of their company culture. Earning this designation means that ABA is one of the best companies to work for in the country.”

Great Place to Work® is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and the leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention and increased innovation.
