ABA Joins Alabama Bankers Association in Releasing New Ad Encouraging Katie Britt to Keep Fighting to Protect Americans’ Privacy

WASHINGTON —

The American Bankers Association joined the Alabama Bankers Association today in releasing a new television ad encouraging Katie Britt (R-Ala.) to keep fighting a misguided plan to have the IRS collect personal financial information from millions of consumer and business bank accounts. Ms. Britt has been a vocal leader on the issue and has authored a critical op-ed piece denouncing the proposal.

“We appreciate Katie Britt’s efforts to protect Americans’ privacy from government overreach,” said ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols. “She has championed a stronger economy while fighting excessive regulation.”

"We're grateful for the opportunity to join ABA in launching this ad thanking Katie Britt," said Scott Latham, president and CEO of the Alabama Bankers Association. "We appreciate her support for reducing regulations and protecting the private financial information of bank customers."

The ad will begin airing in Alabama as soon as today. Click here to see the ad.
