Watuppa Rowing Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, provides opportunities for high school students in the Greater Fall River area to learn to row, race competitively, and improve post-secondary prospects for students.

Established in 2018 as the Bay Coast Rowing Center, the organization re-branded as the Watuppa Rowing Center to highlight their unique location. Watuppa Rowing Center is conveniently located on the South Watuppa Pond in Fall River, Massachusetts. To their west is Providence, Rhode Island, to their north is Boston Massachusetts, and to their south is Newport, Rhode Island—all 55 miles or less away. The pond consists of 1,550 acres of non-tidal water.

During the school year, any student in grades 9-12 in Greater Fall River are encouraged to join the crew team. Youth rowers practice rowing technique, participate in conditioning and stretching workouts, with the goal of creating a cohesive team ready for regattas. The United We Row Summer Clinics are FREE for all Greater Fall River Youths in grades 7-12. This program is sponsored by United Way of Greater Fall River. Clinic Sessions are two weeks long and run Monday through Friday from 8am-noon. Students learn rowing technique and terminology, build endurance and conditioning, and get out on the water to row with their peers.

Students interested in developing their skills further and continuing on a crew team may also sign up for the youth rowing program, which meets in the afternoon. The goal of the youth rowing program is to build teams of students ready to race in regattas throughout New England.

In addition to youth programs, the Watuppa Rowing Center offers adults classes and private instruction.
