Spirit of Ridgewood: Multiple Programs

Ridgewood Savings Bank - Ridgewood, New York

2020 Community Commitment Awards Submission

  • Entry Category: Volunteerism
  • Asset Size: Medium

In 2004, Ridgewood Savings Bank began the Spirit of Ridgewood Program, a volunteerism initiative, to “multiply the good” by “doing good” in the community. Volunteers support community programs that provide vital services to residents or raise money for disease research or civic events. Spirit of Ridgewood serves the interests of and benefits the Bank's three constituencies: its customers, its communities, and its employees. Over the past several years, employees have truly embraced the spirit of corporate citizenship, leading the program to evolve and expand. From blood drives and toy drives, to soup kitchens and senior programs, Ridgewood employees volunteer time and effort to raise money for and awareness of local charitable organizations. In 2019, 284 employees gave 2,791 hours of community service.
