Southside Serves, launched July 1, 2019, is a volunteer program created to provide opportunities for all employees to give back to their communities. This completely voluntary program allocates up to 20 hours of paid time off (PTO) per full-time employee each year. Employees can volunteer during regular work hours in activities with approved community organizations. Such notable events in 2019 included the Promise Academy After School Money Program, Reverse JA in a Day Program, Habit for Humanity Builds, Food Banks, Polytechnic Heights Beautification project, Financial Literacy projects, just to name a few.The purpose of Southside Serves is to incorporate structured bank-wide guidelines while encouraging employees to play an active role in the betterment of the communities where they work and live. Along with the satisfaction provided by giving back to their communities, other incentives include bank-wide awards to employees who participate and display outstanding service within the program. Quarterly drawings are held for each region, and is donated to a community development organization of each winner's choice. At the end of each year, the Bank recognizes the top volunteer in each region, as well as the volunteer effort that had the biggest impact bank-wide. These team members will receive internal/external recognition, and an invitation to lunch with executive management.
