MidFirst Bank's commitment to making a difference in the lives of older Americans is reflected in our multi-faceted Safe Seniors Program. This initiative includes educating senior adults on fraud prevention measures in themed events through our MoneyMoments® financial education program, training frontline staff to recognize and prevent potential senior fraud scams, and utilizing robust fraud detection software for red flag transaction monitoring.

Thwarting senior fraud scams begins with our Enterprise Fraud Department's thorough transaction monitoring. Utilizing trends spotted by our fraud team, our front-line staff is kept apprised of current senior fraud scams to be watchful of, and consumers are warned with monthly emails and social media posts.

Our MoneyMoments financial education team proactively educates seniors through engaging, movie-theme based fraud workshops and unique outreach endeavors, including a full-page fraud alert in a widely distributed senior magazine and website, and manning jungle-themed booths at senior expos and fairs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, a fraud prevention word search puzzle was emailed to senior centers as a means of continuing to educate seniors while social-distancing.

Multiple departments collaborating towards this important endeavor creates a synergy that reduces fraud risk for seniors, which can make a tremendous difference in protecting their financial security.
