At Frost Bank, we're always looking for ways to make people's lives better. In line with our history of choosing to do what's right for customers, we released a new feature in April 2021 and expanded it in June 2022 - overdraft grace - allowing us to support customers in a new and impactful way during a significant time of financial uncertainty.

Overdraft grace eliminates fees on consumer checking account overdrafts up to . As part of Frost's broader effort to eliminate and reduce fees, in June 2022, Frost also made the decision to eliminate fees on instances of non-sufficient funds (NSF) and returned items for all consumer customers. This applies to checking, savings, money market and health savings accounts. At Frost, any decision made by the business is made in the best interest of our customers, even when it takes extra effort or expense.

Combined, the expansion of overdraft grace and the elimination of fees on non-sufficient funds means Frost expects to forgo as much as .5 million per year. However, these features are direct solutions to a need expressed by our customers. They asked for this, so we delivered.

Nearly every bank charges overdraft fees, even if an account is overdrawn by just a few dollars, and on average, that fee is per transaction. At Frost, we believe it's human to make a mistake or come up a little short from time-to-time, especially given the circumstances of the past few years. That's why we introduced overdraft grace.
