Michael Towbes Community Impact Grant

Complementing our 2 flagship giving programs, which donate .5MM locally each year, the Michael Towbes Community Impact Grant (MTCIG) was created in 2019 to honor our Founder, Michael Towbes, whose vision inspires our philanthropic giving programs. His motivations were clear - 'do the right thing, even when no one is watching.' He set the gold standard for impacting the lives of those who need it the most by giving generously of his time, treasure & talent. hairman & CEO, Janet Garufis, notes 'As part of his legacy, Michael wanted to find new ways to share the Bank's success & to have an even greater impact, particularly on the most vulnerable. As we thought about the 2019 annual Community Dividends event, we wanted to celebrate the Bank's continued strength & success with something new. We asked how can we help our communities make even greater strides in the face of challenges that come in all shapes and sizes? It is with that thought that we are pleased to offer the Michael Towbes Community Impact Grant the last 3 years & into the future.'

The program donates a total of at least ,000 annually to one or more 501c3 organizations. Intended to make a meaningful impact by helping the non-profit(s) deliver critical & sustainable services to a large number of the most vulnerable individuals & families in Santa Barbara & Ventura counties, the Bank has received over 50 applications, awarding ,000 to eight organizations. The Bank is synonymous with community leadership, illustrated by unwavering philanthropy & best-in-class service, & underscored by 23 Best Bank awards the last 9 years. The MTCIG is another way for us to help instigate action, inspire giving & galvanize change across our footprint.
