  • Affordable Housing
  • Asset Size: Medium

In May 2022, Bremer Bank announced the renewal of its partnership with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity's wholly owned lending subsidiary TCHFH Lending, Inc., a partnership which is actively transforming affordable housing in the Twin Cities community. The program, called the Home Loan Impact Fund, was first established in 2017 and has allowed Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity the ability to double its impact, even functioning as a worldwide model for Habitat affiliates. The future of the partnership includes a new commitment to purchase an additional 500 below-market mortgages over the course of the next three years with a financial commitment of up to million. Bremer provides the below-market interest rate to subsidize the affordability gap and more than doubles the number of local families who can partner with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity on affordable homeownership, with a particular focus on households of color, who make up a large percentage of the communities served by Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.

To date, nearly 500 Twin Cities families have achieved affordable homeownership because of the Home Loan Impact Fund, with the renewal estimated to benefit an additional 500 families. The total value of the home loans approved through the fund is expected to reach over million at the end of 2025.
