The F&M Bank Community Resiliency Program addressed the critical need of financial security for small businesses and nonprofits. In the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic, many community members faced financial hardship. F&M Bank contributed over ,000 and joined forces with various community organizations to make the most impact. In addition, as Congress enacted the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), F&M Bank was quick to act. The bank positioned itself as a local expert and resource throughout the community. Marketing efforts encouraged local business owners to meet with an F&M Bank loan officer to discuss options and determine if PPP was the right fit. Loan officers quickly became inundated with questions and applications as the Small Business Administration (SBA) made funds available. Staff worked around the clock to ensure both customer and non-customer loan applications were being submitted, approved, and funded by the SBA as time was of the essence. F&M prides itself on active civic and community involvement and contributes over ,000 annually to nonprofit organizations in its Shenandoah Valley home. In addition to its corporate advised community fund, the bank often supports various civic events and organizations through sponsorship and community involvement. Since 1908, F&M Bank has put people and community first at every level of our organization and continues to do so at this ever-changing and unprecedented time.
