As the largest mutual bank headquartered in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Penn Community Bank strives to act as a catalyst for growth in every market it serves. In spring 2020, as the novel coronavirus pandemic swept through Pennsylvania and neighboring states, Penn Community Bank demonstrated its enduring commitment to serving the essential daily needs of both its customers and its communities. As the pandemic took hold, Penn Community Bank adapted its operations to enable it to continue serving its customers' banking and lending needs. It also mobilized to help lead a community-wide response to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak. Penn Community Bank partnered with the United Way of Bucks County to create the Bucks County COVID-19 Recovery Fund. Launched in mid-March 2020, the program aims to help those who have experienced a financial crisis in the wake of the pandemic and the severe economic downturn caused by statewide closures of non-life-sustaining businesses. Launching with ,000 - ,000 in donations from each organization - the fund gives grants to established nonprofits working to assist Bucks County residents with basic needs such as food, shelter, utilities, and transportation. Funds flow through United Way's member agencies, which are able to request financial support to deliver COVID-19-related services to clients.
