ABA Conference Policies

Attendance Policies

ABA Non-Discrimination Policy

The American Bankers Association reaffirms its standing policy of non-discrimination in employment and in all programs and activities with respect to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, personal appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, family responsibilities, genetic information, disability, matriculation or political affiliation. In addition, the ABA Conferences operate on the basic principle of respectful treatment for all persons and, accordingly, are firmly committed to ensuring a harassment-free, positive learning environment for all its students.

Attendance Limitations and Liability

Attendance at all ABA, its subsidiaries and affiliates programs will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. If a program is cancelled, the liability of ABA, its subsidiaries and affiliates is limited to the registration fee.

Eligibility Disclaimer

ABA provides professional development opportunities for employees of membership-eligible institutions. These include community, regional and money center banks and holding companies as well as savings associations, trust companies, savings banks and service members. Government agency employees also qualify.

Satisfaction Guarantee

ABA guarantees that the ABA Conference will meet or exceed your expectations. If it does not, simply let us know in writing, and we’ll refund your entire registration fee, no questions asked.

Conference Registration

Cancellations/Substitutions/Refunds

If you cancel more than 30 days prior to the program start date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel 1-30 days before the start of the program, you may transfer your registration to another person from your institution for the same event, or request a refund, less a processing fee. Cancellations made after the program begins are nonrefundable. Cancellations must be made in writing or faxed to 202-828-6073.  Please contact 1-800-BANKERS (800-226-5377) with any questions.

Guest Registration

A guest is a spouse, significant other or friend who is not in a financial services occupation. A coworker (even a spouse co-worker) or an associate within the financial services industry may not be considered a guest. The registration fee covers entrance into all Marketplace functions as well as other meal functions throughout the Conference.

Speaker Registration

Speakers receive a special speaker kit with a dedicated speaker registration link. Speakers should not register using the general attendee conference registration.

Hotel/Room Reservations

Hotel Reservations Via Other Sources

ABA does not endorse booking hotel reservations via sources other than SPARGO or with the conference hotel directly as indicated for each event. ABA researches the hotel property extensively to ensure that attendees and exhibitors are adequately accommodated, rooms meet ABA's high standards, and discount pricing is provided.

Please beware of room poaching, which is a practice carried out by third-party companies that act as travel agencies, wholesalers, or destination management companies to solicit registrants and exhibitors for room reservations for society or other organizations meetings. Often room poachers may misrepresent themselves as ABA’s official housing provider and registrants and exhibitors may be contacted by fax, e-mail, or phone with offers for cut rate housing. The poacher might inform registrants and exhibitors that the hotel room block is "sold out," and that if you do not book with them immediately, you may not get a room.
