Women's Leadership Resources

Women continue to be under-represented in the banking industry. ABA would like to help lead and inspire women in banking by providing resources and opportunities to network with their peers.

Laurie Stewart"There is still much work to be done in terms of opportunities for women. I am committed to trying to find the path for mentoring and encouraging women to seek the C-suite and not be discouraged if they don’t get there on the first try."

—Laurie Stewart,
Chairman Elect, ABA
President and CEO, Sound Community Bank, Seattle, WA

Women at Stonier

StonierThe first ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking graduating class in 1935 had 228 men and the first women were not admitted until 1964. Over the years, we have made significant strides in attracting more women to the school, and our hope is to increase the number of women graduates. In 2017, 44% of attendees were women.

If you are a female financial services professional considering applying to Stonier, female alumni are available to talk to you and provide insights into the Stonier experience from their individual perspectives. Request to speak to one of the woman advocates.
