ABA Honors Four Banks with National Bank Marketing Video Awards

​WASHINGTON — The American Bankers Association recognized the nation’s best bank marketing videos last night at the 2017 ABA Bank Marketing Conference in New Orleans. The second annual ABA Bank Marketing Video Awards featured nearly 300 entries from banks of all sizes nationwide.
 
Synovus Best of Show Screenshot.JPG“Video marketing is a game changer and a key strategy for customer engagement in today’s digital age,” said Jim Edrington, executive vice president of ABA’s Professional Development Group.  “From entertaining to informing to inspiring, this year’s winners took highly creative approaches to tell their story and build brand awareness.” 
 
A panel of bank marketing experts evaluated the production value, creativity and messaging of all entries. The top six videos for each asset category were then posted on ABABankMarketing.com for public voting, where more than 6,000 voters determined the winners.  The 2017 award winners are:
 
Best of Show
Video that received the highest tally across banks of all asset sizes when judges’ scores were combined with public votes
  • Synovus, Columbus, Ga., for its video titled “Just a Horse.” This video featuring a real Synovus customer spoofs popular commercials starring Clydesdale horses with unique abilities.
Best in Asset Category
Winners determined through combination of the judges’ scoring and public votes within each asset category
 
Under $500 Million
  • FNBC Bank, Ash Flat, Ark., for its video titled “FNBC + Boyd Jackson = Better Together.”  The video highlights the 72-year relationship that began when the bank gave him a loan to start his farm.
$500 Million – $1 Billion
  • JD Bank, Lake Charles, La., for its video titled “JD Bank ZydeCash Checking.” This video takes a light-hearted approach to highlighting the bank’s free interest-bearing checking account offering. 
$1 Billion – $5 Billion
  • The Bank of Missouri, Perryville, Mo., for its video titled “125 Years; 125 Random Acts of Kindness.”  This video highlights many of the small philanthropic gestures employees made throughout the community to commemorate the bank’s 125th anniversary. 
Over $5 Billion
  • Synovus, Columbus, Ga., for its video titled “Just a Horse.”   As the top scorer overall, this video was also the winner of the Best of Show prize.
