Enterprise Risk Management—A Practical "CAMELS-based" Approach
ABATelephone Briefing*
Regulators are bringing more and more pressure on community banks to adopt an enterprise approach to risk management and many banks have struggled with how to do this. But, the highly technical approach adopted by many large banks is not practical in a community bank environment. This program presents a practical approach for bringing together all of the different aspects of risk management using the CAMELS framework that the regulators use when examining your institution.
This recording of the ninety-minute telephone briefing held on January 26, 2012 provides you with a plan for integrating both financial and non-financial risks, prioritizing these risks, and integrating stress testing into the risk management process. Moreover, this approach allows you to put into place an enterprise-wide risk management process without adding significant new staff or resources.
