Appeals Court Delivers Mixed Decision in California Preemption Case
A federal appeals court ruled yesterday -- in ABA v. Lockyer -- that the Fair Credit Reporting Act preempts part, but not necessarily all, of a California privacy law. More Newsbytes

Q2 Productivity Growth Upwardly Revised to 4.3 Percent
Second quarter productivity growth was revised to 4.3 percent (SAAR), from the preliminary 2.2 percent estimate. Furthermore, unit labor costs were greatly revised downward to -0.5 percent from a 1.3 percent increase. Labor costs therefore have not recently been a signifigant contributor to inlfation.
