  • American Academy of Actuaries' 2009 Study on CDHPs: The American Academy of Actuaries released this study, which summarizes the results of four major studies regarding consumer-driven health plans (CDHPs), and shows that CDHPs are effective at controlling costs and increasing preventative care.
  • OptumHealth 2009 HSA Owner Survey: OptumHealth sponsored this national survey of 500 randomly selected HSA owners to measure their satisfaction, opinions, motivations, and saving-and-spending behavior.  (5-09)
  • AHIP 2009 HSA Income Study: America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) released a study that found 83% of accountholders live in neighborhoods that had median incomes less than $75,000 in 1999 dollars.  (5-09)
  • AHIP 2009 HSA/HDHP Census Study: America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) released a study that found, as of January 1, 2009, there were over 8 million lives covered by HSAs.  Read the full study to learn more about the continuing popularity of HSAs.  (5-09)  
  • AHIP HSA/HDHP Study: America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) released a census of enrollees in HDHPs linked to HSA that showed an increase of 43% since last year.  Other findings include that 27% of enrollees were previously uninsured and that over 90% of companies offer HDHPs with a carve out for preventive care.  (4-07)
