Luther Deaton, Jr.
Luther Deaton, Jr., is chairman, president and CEO of Central Bank and Trust Co. and Central Bancshares, Inc., Lexington, Kentucky. He began his banking career at Central Bank in 1978 as an assistant manager and teller. He is a member of the Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass Business Hall of Fame, a recipient of the Governor’s Economic Development Leadership Award for the state of Kentucky and recipient of the John R. Wooden Award from the Lexington Theological Seminary, given in the name of the former UCLA basketball coach to honor a lay person whose life demonstrates outstanding commitment and involvement in a faith community. In April 2005 he received the Volunteer of America “Tribute Award for Outstanding Service to the Commonwealth of Kentucky.” Mr. Deaton is a graduate of Louisiana State University, the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University and the National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma, Norman. |
