Session 1C: "How to Implement and Tune Surveillance Rules" (Repeated in 2C) Modeling is increasingly important to the AML industry, with almost every program using AML models for some purpose (surveillance, OFAC). This session will dive into the technical issues concerning AML model scenario tuning. We will focus on concepts that banks both large and small should employ to determine tuning frequency for a scenario, statistical techniques used to evaluate the effectiveness of a threshold, criteria for retiring scenarios, ensuring the effectiveness of the alert reviews, and the quantitative expertise needed in running a tuning program.
