Beth L. Climo
Beth L. Climo is executive director of two separately chartered affiliates of the American Bankers Association (ABA), the ABA Securities Association (ABASA) and the American Bankers Insurance Association (ABIA). ABASA represents banks' capital markets, underwriting, and wholesale and retail broker-dealer interests. ABIA represents banks' insurance interests, provides an annual conference and various products, services and programs tailored for the bank-insurance business and serves as a networking resource for the industry.
Prior to joining ABA in 1996, Ms. Climo was General Counsel and Director of the Office of Legal and External Affairs for the Federal Housing Finance Board, regulator of the Federal Home Loan Bank System. From 1987 to 1991, she was Director of the Office of Legislative Affairs for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Prior to joining FDIC, Ms. Climo practiced law at the Washington, DC office of the Boston-based law firm of Bingham, Dana & Gould. She was also senior counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs from 1979 to 1983.
Ms. Climo received her B.A. from Wittenberg University of Ohio and her J.D. from North Carolina's Wake Forest University School of Law.
