    ABA ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS TO
    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL

    WASHINGTON — The American Bankers Association announces five new appointees to its Professional Development Council, a group responsible for creating and delivering effective training programs to address emerging needs, business performance and talent development in the banking industry. 

    All thirteen members of the Council are appointed to three-year terms.  The new members were announced in conjunction with ABA's Annual Conference held October 24-26 in San Antonio, Texas. They are:

    • Scott Anderson, senior vice president and training manager, City National Bank, Los Angeles, Calif.
    • Thayer Herte, senior vice president, Northern Trust Company, Chicago, Ill.
    •  Pam Rasmussen, executive vice president and COO, Panhandle State Bank, Sandpoint, Idaho
    • Thomas Rudzewick, executive vice president and CLO, Maspeth Federal Savings and Loan Association, Maspeth, N.Y.
    • Donna Stone, chairman, First Community Bank of Bedford County, Shelbyville, Tenn.

    ABA's Professional Development Group produces numerous conferences, banking schools, briefings and publications in addition to 180 online and self-paced e-learning classes and in-bank training programs.   Members of the Professional Development Council ensure that the offerings are relevant to emerging trends in the banking industry and recommend strategic direction.
