CERTIFIED FINANCIAL MARKETING PROFESSIONAL (CFMP) Eligibility Requirements A minimum of two (2) years of experience in financial services marketing and a graduate from one of the following educational programs:
Five (5) years of experience in financial services marketing and a bachelor's degree. 2. Professional Reference
One letter of recommendation from your manager attesting to your qualifications for certification, including your financial services marketing experience is required. 3. Ethics Statement Each candidate must sign ICB's Professional Code of Ethics statement found on the back of the application. Please note - You must furnish all pertinent information about any convictions or pleas of nolo contendere on the grounds of fraud, embezzlement, unfair or deceptive practices, securities law violations, misappropriation of property, fraudulent conversations or any civil or administrative action from which you have been previously found liable. You must complete and submit the application. You are required to meet the eligibility requirements in place at the time that you submit your application. Professional Knowledge Areas Financial Principles Candidates must possess an understanding of a financial institution's financial management process, including asset/liability management, cost/benefit analysis, balance sheets, income statements, and ratios. Laws & Regulations Candidates must possess an understanding of the laws and regulations that govern a financial institution's advertising and market planning with relation to loan, deposit and non-traditional products, promotions, give-aways, sweepstakes and privacy considerations. Market Research Candidates must possess an understanding of the market research process to include qualitative and quantitative techniques and customer and competitive intelligence. Characteristics of Marketing Plans Candidates must possess an understanding of the market planning process to include situation analysis, objectives, market segmentation, target marketing, customer relationship management, strategies, tactics, outcome measurement and results. Marketing Components Candidates must possess an understanding of both the marketing and promotion mix to include campaign design, product characteristics, brand characteristics, pricing strategies, delivery channel alternatives, public relations, sales support, and ethics.
Fees Application & Exam Fee: $295 for ABA Marketing Network Members; Exam Cancellation Fee Annual Membership Fee: Examination Format & Length
The CFMP exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions. You will be given three hours in which to complete the exam. Everything that you will need to complete the exam is provided by ICB. Assistance from calculators and other equipment is not allowed.

*A $125 exam withdrawal fee is assessed if a candidate cancels or withdraws after the withdrawal deadline listed above. However, requests for withdrawal received on or less than seven (7) business days prior to the exam date will not be honored and the entire exam fee will be forfeited. **Individual proctored exam means that the candidate has the option of taking the exam at his/her company with an ICB-certified member serving as exam proctor. Another option is for ICB to locate an exam site that is within 2 hours driving time from the candidate's company. ICB-Approved Educational Programs in Financial Services Marketing
Please note that, while ICB recommends these resources for appropriate examination preparation, ICB does not guarantee that you will pass the exam by completing these educational programs or studying these materials alone. The CFMP exam assesses not only your knowledge of the topics on the exam outline, but also your application of that knowledge. You should refer frequently to the CFMP exam outline when preparing for the exam.

Approved Post-Certification Continuing Education
You must complete 35 credits of continuing education every three years. You are allowed to carry over up to one-third of your earned credits per three-year cycle.
