Children’s Privacy Policy

The ABA Community Engagement Foundation, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association (“ABA”), provides financial education programs and resources to bankers in order to make their communities better. Although the message is delivered to bankers, our financial education programs of “Teach Children to Save” and “Get Smart about Credit” are geared towards children and young adults. Therefore, the educational content on these pages may be available to children under 13 and this Children’s Privacy Policy, which complies with COPPA (the Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act), will be available at these pages via a link at the bottom of the page.

Collection of Information

Our website of www.aba.com (“Website”) does not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information online from children under 13 without prior verification and parental consent. However, ABA does gather and collect information regarding the use of our Website in order to better serve the ABA Membership and its evolving needs. The information gathered will be (i) personal information voluntarily supplied by you when you register on our Website (registration option not available to children under 13); and (ii) tracking information collected as you navigate our Website.

Because children under 13 cannot register on our Website, the collected tracking history cannot be associated with personally identifiable information. If we learn that any child under the age of 13 has submitted personally identifiable information online, in contradictions to these measures, we will take all reasonable actions to delete such information from our database and not use such information for any purpose, except as required by law.

Use of Information

Collected information will not be transferred to other parties unless otherwise stated at the point of data collection. ABA reserves the right to disclose any information as required by law, a court order, or to a duly authorized investigative agency.

Information is collected on our Website through technology and tools, including cookies. ABA aggregates and analyzes this information in order to learn more about how our Website is used and how to deliver better products and services to ABA Members. Please note that you will not be able to access certain areas of our Website if your computer does not accept cookies from us.
