A Twitter Chat (also known as a Tweet Chat) is an easy way to have a nation-wide conversation. In a Twitter Chat, a group of people all tweet about the same topic during a specific time using one hashtag that can be followed on Twitter.
From 3-5 pm EST on Thursday, Oct. 17, ABA will host the first annual Get Smart About Credit Twitter Chat, called #GetSmartChat. During this time, we will have subject experts ready to answer questions and provide valuable advice on the three main focuses of this year’s program: Paying for College, Protecting Your Identity, and Know Your Score. To participate, include the hashtag #GetSmartChat in any tweets.
This year's subject experts include:
- Identity Theft Resource Center, @ITRCSD, will answer Protecting Your Identity questions;
- VantageScore,@VantageScore, will answer Know Your Score questions
- American Bankers Association with support from the U.S. Dept. of Education's Financial Aid Office, @FAFSA, will answer Paying for College questions
Bankers participating in Get Smart About Credit Day are asked to encourage students to engage in the Twitter Chat conversation using the hashtag #GetSmartChat. Download and distribute the Twitter Chat Flyer to promote the event and the upcoming Lights, Camera, Save! contest, an excellent opportunity for students to win money for their savings.
