Travel Money and Gift Card Program

ABA and Travelex, the world's leading foreign exchange specialist, have teamed up to provide prepaid travel products and foreign currency services to ABA member banks.  Through this relationship, member banks have alternative ways to satisfy customers' needs with travel money—including the Prepaid Travel Card, Foreign Currency, and the Gift Card Program.  Travelex also offers an online ordering program, "My Travel Wallet," designed for bank Web sites to offer these products to their customers with home delivery options.

Prepaid Travel Card 

The prepaid travel card is an instant-issue, point-of-sale debit card with ATM capabilities and one of the most secure ways of carrying money abroad.  It's the one card you want to be sure to pack in your wallet.  You simply preload and activate your card before you travel. It is a great way to pay for your traveling and destination expenses, and keep your travel budget in check.

Gift Card

 The Gift Card is a prepaid Visa card that carries a fixed cash amount determined by the giver at the time of purchase.  It can be given as a gift for any occasion and can be used both nationally and internationally at any Visa affiliated Debit merchant.  Each time the gift recipient uses the card, the purchase amount is deducted from the available balance.  Unlike any other store gift certificate or credit, this card will not limit customers' options.  Like the prepaid travel card, the Visa Gift Card can be easily replaced in the event of loss or theft.

Travelex makes the purchase of foreign currency simple for any ABA member bank.  Customers can order at the branch for pick-up, home delivery or right at home through the bank's Web site.  Travelex ensures competitive rates for customers and supplies over 100 different currencies including exotic currencies, where applicable.

"My Travel Wallet" is the customer-facing multi-product online ordering solution.  This application gets embedded into your bank's website enabling customers to place orders for foreign currency, travelers cheques and prepaid cards.  There are no annual fees or costs for ABA member banks to add MTW to their site and implementation can be done in less than 24 hours.

"Currency On Line" is the Web-based ordering system for placing orders for foreign currency, travelers cheques, and foreign drafts.  The teller simply generates a quote and places an order for branch or home delivery.  The program can track management data by channel, currency, and branch.
